On Monday 17 May, Lund University will again fly the rainbow flags for IDAHOT, The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. This day is held to draw attention to the violence and discrimination that LGBTQIA (Lesbians, Gays, Bi, Trans*, Queer, Intersex and Asexual) people are exposed to in all countries.
08:00 Flag hoisting ceremony
Where: in front of the main university building (“The White House”) in Lundagård
There is an official limit of 8 people, and pro vice-chancellor Jimmie Kristensson will be present, but if 7 more of you want to come, watch and cheer the hoisting of the flags, you are more welcome than ever. You will probably get to listen to a speech by one of HBTQ-LU’s members and founders.
HBTQ-LU is responsible for LU flying the rainbow flags on the University Building on IDAHOT Day since 2014. This year pro vice-chancellor Jimmie Kristensson suggested that all Lund University buildings will hoist the rainbow flag, and this decision has been approved by the board. Flags ahoy!
